Nobody Checks In

Nobody Checks In lyrics

Verse 1

You text "you good?"
I hit "yeah, I'm straight"
That was the trap door
I let it click shut
Now they treat my pain
Like it's out of frame
Phone on DND
Still feel the blame

Said it once, said it twice
Now they call it growth
I'm at dinner nodding
With a lump in my throat
Smile so tight
It could crack teeth
Whole room full of people
And they can't read me

I was dead in the middle
Still said "I'm fine"
Now the group chat quiet
Like I fell off time
Missed calls stacking up
Like they don't know
Once I said I was good
They let it go

Pre-Chorus

I don't need a sermon
I need a check-in
One real question
Before I start bendin'
I made it look easy
That's the worst part
Now I'm by myself
With a loud heart

Chorus

Nobody checks in anymore
Nobody checks in anymore
Nobody checks in anymore
Yeah, I said I'm good, now I'm alone

Verse 2

Lost in the comments
Won't post the bruise
They love the version
That never needs truth
Seen them online
They act like we locked
But I was the joke
When the cameras stopped

I know that game
I played it too
Say "I'm cool" too quick
Then hide the blue
Two a.m. scrolling
Thumbs on my face
Everybody around me
Still a mile away

Mama say "call me"
I say "later"
Then two days pass
And I hate her
Not 'cause I don't care
It's 'cause I can't
Tell the truth out loud
Without falling apart

Pre-Chorus

I don't need a sermon
I need a check-in
One real question
Before I start bendin'
I made it look easy
That's the worst part
Now I'm by myself
With a loud heart

Chorus

Nobody checks in anymore
Nobody checks in anymore
Nobody checks in anymore
Yeah, I said I'm good, now I'm alone

Bridge

I lied so clean
You believed me
I said "I'm okay"
Now nobody needs me

Nobody checks in anymore
Nobody checks in anymore
Nobody checks in anymore
Yeah, I said I'm good, now I'm alone

Nobody checks in anymore
Nobody checks in anymore
Nobody checks in anymore
Yeah, I said I'm good, now I'm alone
