i'm thinking of her

i'm thinking of her lyrics

Verse 1

we're slow dancing in the living room
she put on a song she likes
her head's on my shoulder, her hair smells like my shampoo
and I'm thinking about my ex
I'm just gonna say it
the couch is pushed back against the wall
she's got her socks on, she's happy
and I'm somewhere else, not even far

Chorus

I'm thinking of her
I'm thinking of her
her hand's in my hand and I'm thinking of her
it's not even a memory, it's just her name
and I'm thinking of her
I said it in my head and it was the wrong name
I'm thinking of her

Verse 2

she says I like this part
I say me too, I don't know the part
the song has a key change or something
I nod in the right place
I'm good at that now
she's not asking for much
she's just asking me to be here
and I'm standing here, I'm technically here

Chorus

I'm thinking of her
I'm thinking of her
her hand's in my hand and I'm thinking of her
it's not even a memory, it's just her name
and I'm thinking of her
I said it in my head and it was the wrong name
I'm thinking of her

Bridge

I don't even want her back
I think that's the part that's weird
I just want to stop being the one
who still knows how she took her coffee

Verse 3

the song's almost over
she looks up and smiles at me
I smile back, it's a real smile
that's what makes it worse

Outro

I'm thinking of her
(she's right here)
I'm thinking of her
