I Break in the Porcelain Sink

I Break in the Porcelain Sink lyrics

Verse 1

My spoon in the sink
Still marked with salt
I press my thumb
Where my ribs won't talk
The kettle waits
Like it's holding breath
And I wear your name
Like a wire in my chest

Pre-Chorus

Too close, too cold
I know that shape
The cabinet door
Won't stay in place
My hands shake glass
My jaw locks tight
I'm almost out
Of my own mind

Chorus

I break in the porcelain sink
I break, I break, I think
Hold me up, hold me up
I can't keep my shape
I break in the porcelain sink
I break, I break, I sink
Say my name, say my name
Till the cracks fade away

Verse 2

Your coat on the chair
Stares at the wall
Like it knows the room
Will swallow us all
I bite my tongue
Till the blood runs sweet
And the floorboards hum
Under my feet

Pre-Chorus

Too loud, too late
My pulse won't wait
The cupboard teeth
Keep all my fear
I'm leaning hard
On a thin white light
I'm almost out
Of my own mind

Chorus

I break in the porcelain sink
I break, I break, I think
Hold me up, hold me up
I can't keep my shape
I break in the porcelain sink
I break, I break, I sink
Say my name, say my name
Till the cracks fade away

Bridge

Take the plate from my hands
Before I let it go
I'm all sharp edges now
I'm all bone and snow
If I scream in the room
Let the walls stay still
I was never glass
I was always spill

I break in the porcelain sink
I break, I break, I think
Hold me up, hold me up
I can't keep my shape
I break in the porcelain sink
I break, I break, I sink
Say my name, say my name
Till the cracks fade away
I break in the porcelain sink
I break, I break, I think
Hold me up, hold me up
Till the cracks fade away
