Two Drinks In

Two Drinks In lyrics

Verse 1

I said I’d go home early
I said I’d keep it neat
Then your name got in my glass
And sat right down with me

The room was doing its usual
All those faces, all that air
I kept my best blank look on
Like it might get me somewhere

Pre-Chorus

But I felt it turn
Real slow
One more smile
And I know

Chorus

Two drinks in
Two drinks in (two drinks in)
I can hear it now
Two drinks in
Two drinks in (two drinks in)
And I’m smiling anyhow

Verse 2

I’m good at acting casual
Good at making it a joke
I wear my cool like armor
Till it starts to crack and float

You didn’t ask for nothing
I didn’t give the game away
Still the truth came walking out
Like it had bills to pay

Pre-Chorus

And I felt it turn
Real slow
One more line
And I know

Chorus

Two drinks in
Two drinks in (two drinks in)
I can hear it now
Two drinks in
Two drinks in (two drinks in)
And I’m smiling anyhow

Bridge

Maybe that’s the trick of it
You go laughing, then you stay
All my careful little exits
Move a step behind the way

Chorus

Two drinks in
Two drinks in (two drinks in)
I can hear it now
Two drinks in
Two drinks in (two drinks in)
And I’m smiling anyhow

Outro

Two drinks in
That’s the truth
Two drinks in
And I let it through
