I Keep Calling for a Face

I Keep Calling for a Face lyrics

Verse 1

You left it on four
Blue glow on the wall
I watched it blink back
Like it knew it all

Pre-Chorus

No signal, no names
Just the hum in the glass
I kept the remote
Like it might bring you back

Chorus

Channel four on, channel four
Channel four on, channel four
I keep calling for a face
But it stays just out of place
Channel four on, channel four
Channel four on, channel four
One more frame, then it goes dark
And I laugh right through the sparks
(channel four)

Verse 2

The screen got mean
In a soft little way
Same empty show
Different shade of gray

Pre-Chorus

I tell myself chill
Like that fixes the night
But the room keeps a pulse
With that cold blue light

Chorus

Channel four on, channel four
Channel four on, channel four
I keep calling for a face
But it stays just out of place
Channel four on, channel four
Channel four on, channel four
One more frame, then it goes dark
And I laugh right through the sparks
(channel four)

Bridge

I used to think if I stared long enough
Something would shake in the noise
Now I just know that the noise is enough
To drown out my own voice
Four lines, one glow
Still nobody home
I talk like a joke
Then I let it go

Chorus

Channel four on, channel four
Channel four on, channel four
I keep calling for a face
But it stays just out of place
Channel four on, channel four
Channel four on, channel four
One more frame, then it goes dark
And I laugh right through the sparks
(channel four)
